Monday evening we had the privilege of meeting 6 month old Alec and shooting some pictures of him and his siblings Cailee and Luke. I have to say what well-mannered kids Cailee and Luke were, and what a happy baby Alec is! They were all such fun to be around. Here are a couple “sneak-peek” shots of Alec I want to share while we are in the process of editing the rest.

Thanks again, Christy! It was a pleasure hanging out with you and your cute kids!
It had been entirely too long since I had been back home to California to see my mom and family! I was SO excited to get the opportunity to spend two weeks there, and see some extended family in the mean time too. My mom’s such a wonderful woman, I absolutely adore her, and my amazing grandma too, I am so blessed to have them in my life!
The flights down and back actually went quite smoothly! I brought our Canon 50D with me (along with all the lenses) which I was a bit apprehensive about. But I knew I wanted to take some nice family pictures while I was there so I decided to go for it! I recently bought a new camera bag that would hold everything off of Amazon.com and that worked great for the trip!
My mom is quite the planner so she had a variety of things we would be doing while I was in town. She was all prepared as far as meals too…she wanted to make sure I would have all my favorites. I also have to hand it to her..she handled having a camera photographing her often quite well. Thanks mom for being so tolerant. :)
A couple of my favorite things we did besides visiting family, were going to some Japanese Gardens, and watching fireworks on the beach in Dana Point. :) Here’s some of my favorite shots from my stay. I can’t wait to go back and visit. <3
This past Monday and Tuesday Matt & I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary! It always kind of sneaks up on us year after year and we always say to eachother “Man, has it already been another year?” We say that in a good way of course, with how fast life goes when you get older. It was fun to reminisce about our early years, and remind eachother of our love.
This year I was wanting to do something fun that Matt would be excited about. One of my best girl friends a few months back had been to McMenamins Edgefield Hotel and had wonderful things to say about it so I went to their website. I found a package for Hotel Oregon which included 2 tickets to the Evergreen Aviation Museum too! This past year Matt has been playing a flight simulation PC game (which he is quite good at!) and being as he has always loved World War II planes, I figured seeing some planes up close and personal would be a treat!
We had such wonderful driving weather on the way to the hotel, just enjoying eachother’s company and listening to some music. I snapped this picture with our new camera lens, from the car…Such a beautiful day!

The hotel had tons of character, and it was nice to stay stay somewhere and “disconnect”. Even though, I did bring my laptop..but we ended up Netflixing a movie to watch so that was a win-win. :) I totally recommend staying at Hotel Oregon! We enjoyed going from floor to floor looking at the unique art painted on the walls, walking around downtown McMinville (which totally reminds me of downtown Corvallis) , and drinking some McMenamins brewed beer. Here are some pics of the hotel and us enjoying it.
The next day it was off to the museum! We were pretty stoked too because aside from one of Matt’s favorite planes being there we also got to see an SR-71 Blackbird, which holds the record for being the fastest manned aircraft. It is also home to the Spruce Goose. Here’s another group of pictures (click on them to see bigger images).
I apologize for the lengthy post, but we had so much fun and I had to share. Thank you Matt for being an amazing husband, best friend, and over all great guy… I just love you!
Matt & I were quite excited to be part of Christin & Robert’s special day this past Saturday! Their wedding was beautiful, and we were thankful to get through nearly the whole day without a drop of rain! Here’s a sneak peak of a few shots taken that day.

It was quite a party in the girls “getting ready” room. Full of lots of laughter and special moments like the one above; Christin’s mom putting on her necklace.

The reception was full of close friends and family wishing Christin and Robert well, and sharing special moments and memories of how they met. Above is a shot of Robert and his mom, Lori enjoying their mother-son dance.

I really really like the above shot! Thanks Christin & Robert for being so cool, and “go with the flow”. The next couple of shots were taken in the evening, after the wedding. We were able to take these just as it was starting to sprinkle! They were taken in a field next door to where the wedding was held.

Thank you, Christin & Robert for allowing us to photograph your special day.
We wish you the best in your marriage, and your lives.
This post is SO long overdue, which I apologize to you for that (you know who you are). First I want to thank a very, very, brave group of cool kids ( Elizabeth, April, Hannah, Brennan & Jillian!) that braved this beach shoot…. in the middle of DECEMBER! Though it was both windy and cold, we managed to have such a great time doing this photo shoot. We had to pile in our cars a couple of times to get warm, but as soon as we got out, fully warmed up, we were good to go again! I wanted to share a couple of pictures from the shoot here on our blog below, but the rest of the pictures can be found on our website Cornelius Photoworks under Gallery | Beach Photo Shoot.
Thanks again you guys for giving us the chance to get to know you & photograph you. You are amazing!

Happy weekend!
I’ve been really busy lately, and totally forgot some cute pictures I wanted to upload of a recent family birthday party! We got together at my husband’s grandmother’s house, which is always a fun time. I just love their outdoor patio area where we all can gather, listen to music, BBQ, and eat great food! (see below)

Now enjoy some cute cute pictures of my neice, Selah. Followed by Matt’s cousin’s little ones, and their dog Sadie. :)

We ventured out into grandma Joyce’s garden and let the kiddies play around. She’s got so much wonderfully yummy produce out there!
Dannon & Dallas also had a fun time playing on the lawn mower.

Thanks for looking… Happy Sunday!
We kept busy with a bunch of stuff in August. Just to recap on some stuff now that I’m finally getting the blog site all dialed in, I wanted to share some photos from camping, the Lane County Fair, and my work trip to Las Vegas!

We had a little 3 day weekend and went camping and that was sooo much fun! I had actually NEVER been camping before. Yeah, that’s right. How do you live in Oregon and never have gone camping? Very carefully I guess! We had such a nice relaxing time. Our camping spot was of a road right above the river. Matt opted to find a spot ourselves instead of camping in a camping ground, which sounded more exploratory to me, so I was all for it! Here is a shot of our campfire…it was very cozy. :)

My work (Game Crazy) had a tent at the fair so we were able to enjoy the festivities off and on. Since it was the “Tech Tent” we also did a variety of workshops on all things technology related. Matt came representing Cornelius Photoworks, and did a presentation on Photoshop which was great!
Aside from almost getting sick on fair food, Matt captured this fantastic shot of a tribal fire show.

I was running around taking pictures of rides at night as well, since I just think it looks quite awesome. I caught this one of the ferris wheel… looking at them now makes me want to go to another fair tomorrow!

So I know this is getting really long… but wanted to leave you one last shot of the city that never sleeps.. Las Vegas was a tiring trip. They had us in workshops all day, and then of course, people wanted to hang out at night too. Gosh, I must have gotten about 8 hours of sleep the whole 4 days I was there. Good times… good times. :)

Our new website is up and I am excited for that! It is really really starting to feel like we have something going on now, something official, concrete if you may… Earlier today before work I e-mailed some of the local high schools about posting an ad in newsletters and I think that’s going to be a great opportunity! I am also excited about our new logo that I just designed. I think it’s gonna stick (see the top of the page for it, you can’t miss it!) I worked on it tonight as Matt & I watched an episode of Quantum Leap… it was a two-parter, from when he leaped back into his life as a kid! Such an awesome show!
Now we have an official e-mail: mattandgina@corneliusphotoworks.net, that just got set up tonight! Next step is a fun one, now that I got our logo hammered down… ordering business cards! FUN!
